Supplier name: Mindray UK Limited
Publication date: 16th January 2023
Mindray UK Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, through the reduction of its carbon emissions, and offsetting the residual emissions with verified projects.
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline Year: 2022 | |
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations
Mindray considers 2022 as its baseline for scopes 1 and 2, as it is the first full year post-COVID. It, therefore, provides a fair representation of the company’s emissions. The company will calculate its Scope 3 emissions during 2023 and will revise its baseline next year, to consider the inclusion of the new Scope.
Baseline year emissions:
EMISSIONS TOTAL | (tCO2e) |
Scope 1 | 213.00 |
Scope 2 | 42.52 |
Scope 3 | Not determined for 2022 |
Total Emissions | 255.52 |
Reporting Year: 2022 | |
EMISSIONS | TOTAL (tCO2e) |
Scope 1 | 213.00 |
Scope 2 | 42.52 |
Scope 3 | Not determined for 2022 |
Total Emissions | 255.52 |
To continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction target:
⇒ decrease the emissions to 204.42 tCO2e, by 2028. This is a reduction of 20% compared to the baseline year emissions.
The reduction target will be revised once Scope 3 emissions have been calculated and the Baseline has been revised.
The progress against these targets will be plotted in a graph next year once Scope 3 emissions are included in the baseline.
Carbon Reduction Projects
The company has increased the use of online meetings to reduce the number of miles used to meet clients, but it’s not possible to measure the impact of this measure on the carbon footprint.
Mindray has also implemented an Environmental Management System, according to ISO 14001, which supports the carbon reduction projects and monitoring.
In the future we plan to implement further measures such as:
⇒ Switching to a 100% renewable electricity tariff (17% of the total emissions of Scopes 1 & 2),
16th January 2023 Page 3 of 3
⇒ Promote the replacement of petrol/diesel cars by hybrid or electric cars (83% of the total emissions of Scopes 1 & 2),
With these changes, we project that carbon emissions will decrease by around 20% (considering Scopes 1 & 2 only).
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standards for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting (DEFRA 2022).
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
